JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Jonesboro police say a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man on the city's north side has surrendered. Edward Earl Breedlove Jr. surrendered to police Sunday in the Friday night shooting death of a 37-year-old man. The victim's name has not been released.
Lt. Roy Coleman says witnesses told investigators someone shot the victim and then took off on foot. Coleman says the possible shooter was picked up by an unknown vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Breedlove is being held in the Craighead County jail pending a hearing scheduled for Monday afternoon.
