LITTLE ROCK, AR – A former band teacher at Bryant High School had his teaching license revoked Monday by the State Board of Education.

James Chad Green was charged with first degree sexual assault in October. The Saline County Prosecutor’s Office says the charge stems from sexual misconduct with a student during the 2009 and 2010 school year.

The revocation of his license is permanent. Green was not present during the Board hearing. Green left the Bryant School District last year.

Actually Foxy I think it "OBVIOUS" that this is an over reaction by the State Board of Education. There is a good chance, given what I have heard, that this guy will be found "Not Guilty", for the following three reasons: 1. It took an entire year to charge Mr Green. Why did it take so long? 99% of the time the moment the story break the teacher is hauled off to jail. If it was so "OBVIOUS" he was guilty, why the year long wait? 2. Mr. Green has always claimed he is innocent. Every other story I have heard for a long time, the teacher, within a few weeks, admits guilt and takes a Pea Bargain, to avoid the decades in jail he faces if found guilty. This is not what has happened and it is highly usual. I find it more plausible that Mr. Green is telling the truth. 3. According the past stories, the "Victim", for doing drugs, was kicked out of the Band and the posted on Facebook that he was going to get "Payback". Then he accused Mr. Green of a crime. Again, this make is seem more plausible that Mr. Green is telling the truth. Again, I think it was extremely premature for the tate Board of Education to act the way it did. Mr. Green isn't actively teaching. There is no danger to any kids, so they could have very easily waited until after the trial. What if he is found "not guilty". In that case he will be innocent, but forever punished for a crime he didn't commit. How is that right?

PEDOPHILES ARE BEING SUPPORTED BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO THINK A MAN SHOULD BE KILLED IF HE TRIES TO STEAL YOUR 4 WHEELER. HOW ABOUT STEALING YOUR CHILDRENS' INNOCENCE? SHOULD THEY DIE FOR THAT?

Foxy, you are basing that on what? You said: "OBVIOUSLY the State Board had SUFFICIENT ENOUGH evidence to revoke his license". Have you seen this evidence? "OBVIOUSLY there is some truth to the accusation being made" Accusations are not proof. And it may be obvious to you, but its not been made obvious to me, by any means. That's why we have a court system. Put yourself in his position. If a child accused you of sexual misconduct, wouldn't you want due process before your teaching license is revoked? If you are found guilty in a court of law, then yes, your license needs to be torn up and burned. But until that happens, its over reactionary nonsense to appease the public. There are parents who automatically freak out at the mere thought of a sex offender teaching their kids.

And we all know teenagers never lie. Remember Ms. Ward? May her killer, and the slew of state officials that covered it all up rot and burn.

I'm with DonWalters. Isn't is a bit premature to "permanently revoke" his license. What will happen if he is acquitted? He wont be guilty, but will be punished?!? How is that right. I also question why, if the case was so strong, they waited 2 years to charge him. This was supposed to have happen in 2009-2010. The Board should have waited until a conviction or clearance before deciding what to do with him. He's not teaching, so even if he were guilty, he's not endangering any kids. I meet this guy a very long time ago, and what I remember about him, I would tend to believe him when he says he's innocent, especially considering a 2 year wait.

WELL DON...OBVIOUSLY the State Board had SUFFICIENT ENOUGH evidence to revoke his license. What YOU people are failing to see hear is that after a very LENGTHY investigation, the BPD had enough evidence to charge this person with this crime. They (BPD) had plenty of time to look into the allegations, and OBVIOUSLY there is some truth to the accusation being made...otherwise, this guy would have never been charged. It has been well over a year! Maybe Bryant should spend some tax payer dollars on educating the ADULT teachers on proper behavior with students instead of building their McMansion of a high school....what ya think???

Is one of your children in his class? Mine are not. If they were I wouldn't want him with mine. It can be reinstated later. Just because you didn't see the fox eat the chicken didn't mean he couldn't have.

Wow. So this is how we do things now? We revoke their teaching license as soon as a charge is filed? Damn, if its that easy, some disgruntled student could file charges on a teacher they don't like. Imagine a 5th grader getting angry at their teacher for giving them too much homework on the weekend. I have had 2 boys attend Bryant High, and one of them was in the band with Mr. Green for 4 years, and I can say with confidence, whether he's guilty or not, I think his license should not be revoked until he's found guilty of a crime.
