American Red Cross Opens Shelter Opens Shelter at Bismark High School
Residents In Area Surrounding Amity Should Also Be Prepared For Possible Evacuation
JUNE 29, 2012-LITTLE ROCK – The American Red Cross of Greater Arkansas will open emergency shelter for Amity residents in responding to evacuation requests for persons in the path of the wildfire burning in Clark and Hot Spring Counties at the follow location:
Bismark High School, 11636 Arkansas Highway 84, Bismark
7:00pm
Please bring to shelter:
• Any needed medications, medical equipment and supplies
• Important papers: Insurance, deed to house, banking, I.D.
• Supplies for infants/toddlers: diapers, formulas, bottles, snacks
• Children: pillows, special toy, book
• Teens: Quiet entertainment, lots of batteries
It is recommended residents living near the evacuation of Amity be prepared to leave home should the area of concern be expanded. To be ready at a moment’s notice please:
• Listen to your local radio and television stations for updated emergency information
• Have a full tank of gas, no less than half filled in the event detours or a long drive is required
• Back your car into the garage or park it in an open space facing the direction of escape
