LITTLE ROCK, AR – Two of Jefferson County’s most wanted suspects were captured recently, one after allegedly assaulting a Chicago police officer, another while crossing the border in Central America.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Antonio L. Williams, Jr. got into a fight with Chicago Police after giving officers a false name. In the report, Williams was able to take an officer’s taser and use it against him.
At the end of Williams’ altercation with police, 2 CPD officers went to the hospital with lacerations to the face, neck fractures, and a dislocated knee. In Arkansas, Williams, Jr. is wanted on robbery charges. In Illinois, Williams is charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery on a peace officer, three counts of felony resisting a peace officer, and one count of felony disarming a peace officer.
This past weekend, 58-year-old George Thomas was apprehended at a border check point near the country of Guatemala after trying to cross into Belize. Thomas is wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for an alleged rape.
Thomas is currently in jail in Houston, TX, awaiting extradition to Arkansas.
