Mom arrested for leaving baby while liquor shopping

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – 30 year old Amy McIntosh is accused of leaving her infant while going to the liquor store and visiting her own mother.

A neighbor reported hearing the 11 month old child crying and went to investigate. When no one answered the door, the neighbor reportedly busted through the door finding the baby on the floor with a bloody nose and a soiled diaper.

McIntosh is in the Pulaski County Detention Center charged with endangering the welfare of minor and obstructing government operations. She reportedly originally gave investigators false information about her identity.

What's that she's holding up against her head? A glove with ice in it? Did someone give her a much deserved "whoops upside the head"? I'll have to agree; single parent families are becoming more and more prominent; and so is the rising crime rate.

I call it lack of man training while growing up. Where is the father to this child. I put blame on him too. If your old enough to pro-create you have to be responsible for your children. Living with them or not. Know about their home and how it's run. Pay the support. Get active in their life. I think this has a direct effect on the rising crime rate. To many children raised with an absent parent. Throw her away.

I could not even imagine going ANYWHERE without my babies!!! (Besides having to go to work and leaving them at home with their father.) And THEN I hated to leave them!

I agree that there are to many of us Ladies/women out there that have spent many days and nights crying becasue we can not have a child. In reading this my heart goes out to the baby and hope the little one finds a loving caring family that wants and will give this child all the love it needs.

Give the baby to a decent home who will love the baby and not put a liquor run before the babys saftey in the first place. Take the baby totaly out of this family because when she went to see her own mother the grandmother of this baby she should have known something wasn't right. This baby isn't safe in this family from the reading this story.

I will never understand how filth become parents when so many loving women who desire a child of their own cannot conceive. I hope and pray the State gives a decent family member custody of this baby. I hope and pray there is a decent family member who will fight for this baby. This girl whom is the birth mother is no woman and no mother. Good job to the neighbor for stepping in and being nosy. We need more folks like you that pay attention and does something.
