Officer Relieved of Certain Duties After Wife Pawns Police Gun

GURDON, AR -- A police officer has been taken off the streets after his wife tried to pawn his department-issued gun.

According to Gurdon Mayor Clayton Franklin, the officer has been relieved of certain duties while the incident is under investigation.

The Mayor says the city had to pay to retrieve the gun from a local pawn shop.

Franklin insists the officer is innocent, but claims charges will be filed against the wife.
