Olson Family Questions Fundraiser Efforts

Olson's husband asks people, who want to help, to make donations to NLRPD.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The family of a North Little Rock murder victim has concerns over donations being raised on their behalf.

Samantha Olson's family reached out to FOX 16 about recent fundraising efforts.

The past several weeks, Jason Benbrook has been taking collections at JFK and McCain.

But members of Olson's family say they don't really know him and they aren't sure all the money collected went into a memorial account.

North Little Rock police did confirm Benbrook made several deposits and he told us he only has good intentions.

"I promise you I haven't done anything with the money besides give it to the bank," Benbrook said.  "I don't understand why I'm being looked at like I am."

Eric Olson, Samantha's husband, says the family is not supporting any type of money collections on the streets right now.

If you want to donate, Olson asks you give to the North Little Rock Police Department's reward fund in helping to find his wife's killer.
