One dead after a Stuttgart A-Z Mart shooting

STUTTGART, AR – Police say one person has died after a shooting at a Stuttgart A-Z Food Mart.

According to Bill Sadler of the Arkansas State Police, police responded to calls about a robbery at the A-Z Food Mart located at 720 Main Street in Stuttgart on August 24.

Witnesses told police that two teenagers, one of which was armed with a handgun, entered the store, fired several shots into the ceiling and demanded money from the clerks.

One clerk, later identified as Jose Hundorus, was allegedly shot by a suspect who demanded money from him. A second clerk reportedly wrestled the gun away from the suspect and used it to shoot both suspects.

All three injured were transported to a Little Rock hospital, where one suspect succumbed to his injuries while the other was treated then taken to jail.

Police have not yet named the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
