I almost always have a gun with me anyway, but I would love the freedom to wear it holstered.

I would rather have the choice to carry open or concealed. Depending on the situation and where you are at, I would rather not have an armed criminal intent on robbing me knowing I was armed and being able to get the "drop" on me. I find it rather funny that AGFC will allow you to carry a concealed weapon while hunting, but it cant be used for hunting, even if it is of proper barrel length and caliber. That handgun must be worn in the open!

Why not have open carry. now as it is the only one having a open carry is the one inflecting harm on someone. This person might think twice about causing harm if there are others around who can give quick response to a crime. your right to protect yourself or others around you should not be limited to dialing 911

I moved to Arkansas from Kansas five years ago. When I went through concealed carry training back in Kansas I learned Arkansas recognizes Kansas concealed carry permits. But as the instructor put it " Arkansas is pretty screwed up regarding gun laws, so you need to be careful if you get stopped in Arkansas. They don't understand their own laws, let alone the laws of othet states with whom they have reciprosity." There is a good reason Arkansas is viewed as backward by the rest of the country.

I'm not advocating gun fights; but the "old west" is sounding pretty good right now. Murderers getting only a few years, plea deals, the cost of courts and feeding the trash. Maybe the "old west" wasn't all that bad. Get a rope!

If they can see it they can try to take it and how do you know who the felon is wearing one? If you read carefully everyone that wants it wants to be like the old west "if your in a store and someone comes in to rob it..." Err, generally the store is empty. I think concealed and all armed security should require weapon retention training as well as any open carry, if that was a requirement along with a license system and some reasonable method to see someone is not a criminal I could see it, otherwise I think it's a bad ideal.

Deadeye huh? You don't by any chance have a metal cane that folds up, ride a Harley with a trailer full of flags behind it do you? Just curious. If you are one of my RC's; good, I need a civil war replica black powder 44 worked on. Guys and gals; write your state reps and senators; let's get this passed!

As a gunsmith with my shop at home, I often carry a firearm openly while on my property. Of all the customers who have visited me, do you know how many feel uncomfortable with this? Absolutely none. They see it and ignore it. Not just the men, but their wives as well. Noone has ever questioned me or appeared threatened with what I wear on my hip. People are more open to personal defense than the government wants us to believe, and they feel safe with it. They know a weapon is there for protection, not assault. Otherwise, I wouldn't have any customers.
