LITTLE ROCK, AR – A family of four from Illinois was not injured during an attempted robbery and shooting Friday night at a Raceway gas station.

According to the police report, Ernesto Lopez, Blanca Contreras, and two small children were at the Raceway at 6425 University Ave. Lopez tells police a man came up to him and tried to rob him at gunpoint.

Police responding to the shooting say they found multiple shell casings at the station and learned the suspect ran off north on University. Police say video shows Lopez and the unknown assailant get into a physical disturbance before the gun was pulled and shots fired.

Lopez drove away from the scene and contacted police in Caddo Valley, about an hour away from where the shooting happened. Police found there were two bullet holes in the driver’s side door, but Lopez, Blanca, and the children were not injured.

The shooting suspect was not found.

He should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque. LR is nothing but all crime these days. Mayor and Police Chief both need to resign.
