Police Seize Drugs, Money, Stolen Firearm After Pursuit Through 2 Counties

Police seized 10 ounces of methamphetamine in the form of “ice,” drug paraphernalia, $3,460, and a stolen 9mm automatic after a vehicle pursuit of a man and woman on Friday afternoon.
LONOKE COUNTY, AR -- Police seized drugs, thousands of dollars and a gun after a vehicle pursuit of a man and woman took sheriffs through two counties on Friday afternoon.

Around noon, Sheriff John Staley with the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office received a tip regarding the the location of Joseph Brackett, 40, who had outstanding arrest warrants.

When law enforcement arrived to the area of Gatepost Road in Cabot, they located Brackett as the passenger in a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero and attempted to pull the car over.

The Mitsubishi failed to stop and sped up, leading a pursuit from Highway No. 5 in Cabot into Pulaski County. The car then headed back into Lonoke County to the area of Morrison Road and Highway No. 319. At that time, the Mitsubishi went into a ditch and hit the embankment.

Brackett and the female driver, who was was identified as 23-year-old Desirea Boldin, were taken to the hospital for injuries suffered from the accident.

Police found 10 ounces of methamphetamine in the form of “ice,” drug paraphernalia, $3,460 and a stolen 9mm automatic in the car.

Police say bench warrants will be obtained for both Brackett and Boldin for the following offenses: Possession with the purpose of deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, fleeing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Boldin will also be charged with assault against an officer.
