SPRINGDALE, AR-- An alleged request for a kiss ended up landing a Springdale man in jail Thursday on assault charges.

Police say Jeremy Ray Bara lost his temper and attacked a woman after she denied his request.

The victim told police she ran to her brother's home nearby because she felt Bara might hit her.

According to an arrest report, Bara followed the woman and continued to assault her, attempting to drag her from her brother's home.

They say he then assaulted the brother with a board when he intervened.

Bara faces a misdemeanor domestic assault charge for the attack on the female victim and a felony aggravated assault charge for the attack on her brother.

According to police, Bara has a lengthy prior criminal history that includes charges of aggravated assault, 3rd degree domestic battery, terroristic threatening, possession of a controlled substance and DWI.

He's being held in the Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
