LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a husband and wife had to be taken to the hospital after an apparent argument Saturday, the husband with a gun shot wound to his face.

Involved are Fred and Linda Dees, who live north of Mountain Home. When deputies arrived at their residence, they found Fred at the front of the house, covered in blood with a towel on his face. Sheriff’s investigators say that Fred was shot on the right side of his face, right above his nostril with a .22 Beretta Semi-Automatic hand gun.

The Sheriff’s Office says that there was evidence of an argument at the Dees home, but that Fred and Linda give different accounts as to what happened prior to the shooting.

Both Fred and Linda were taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. Linda was treated and released. Fred was then taken to Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO where he is listed in serious condition.
