Not enough information! You are allowed to possessing a weapon on your own property according to state law, no permit required, though many cops don't like it and will try to tell you otherwise, granted it's not the smartest thing to do when they are around it is still legal. So, the question is what kind of weapon? If it was a firearm, did he point it at them? Refuse to drop it when ordered to do so or threaten them with it previously or while holding it? If it was a contact weapon, did he previously threaten them with it or do so when he came out? Did he advance on them with it? Did he refuse to drop it when ordered? These are simple questions with simple answers, yet we still don't know. Why? I would like to think it was justified, but things just don't look right with this information missing, I hope it comes out soon.

Mr. Tom, have you ever seen a taser in action? Obviously not. To utilize one, you have to be pretty damn close to the subject, which would put you in harms way as well. If this goober came out of the house with a gun and the police told him to drop it and he didnt or if he did threaten them or someone else with it, then so be it. Taser? LOL. Really Mr. Tom?

You are correct Butch; we do indeed have a right to know. That's why I keep asking, what was the weapon! If it was a gun, then the police probably told him to drop it, and if he didn't respond, then they did what they had to do. But if wasn't a gun; then there were alternatives to shooting and killing him. The family of the young black man has asked the Feds to look into his case. Hope they do. But I still can't point any fingers in this case until I know what the weapon was, and other circumstances involved. Was he threatening the woman with a firearm? Was he threatening the police with a firearm? Wish LRPD would let us know. The longer it takes, the more it smells.

Isn't it crazy how some will spray foolish words. The People have A RIGHT to have all the facts. There have been way to many police shootings costing lives lately. It's time to Investigate some. Used to be police tried to get to the bottom of things without putting people in the bottom of graves. Wish some Federal Agency would come in and take a look at some of these.

Watched the evening news; again, he had a weapon; and again, we are not being told what that weapon was. I'm on the officers side so far; but it is taking LRPD a long time to release the details; what was the weapon, what did the man do that caused them to use their firearms. Important facts that we would like to know.

I have no beef at all with police officers, I know they have a tough job and put their life on the line every day, but why did we waste money on tasers if it seems they are never used as the 1st means of taking down an agressive person? It seems they are too quick to pull a gun and shoot! I know, I'm not the one in these situations so maybe I just don't know but I keep hearing of people killed when it seems they could have just been subdued with a taser.

XCon; welcome aboard, haven't seen you post before. Not surprised at your comment though. I know a few by name and sight, and have 3 friends that have been there. I have a sister-in-law who lives with a 4 time loser. And I know several of his white trash friends that peddle that white garbage. One of the idiots told me he had an assault rifle when he dropped my sis-in-laws old man off at my place while he was staying here until they could get their own place. Moron didn't know he was talking to someone that hates meth, and the scumbags that distribute it. None of them would call the law either; they have weapons and drugs laying around I'm sure. Wiliam; gave you a vote for your last sentence. I still want to know if the guy had a gun. To those of you against the law on this one; he may have been beating the woman, he may have been threatening her life with a weapon; you OK with beating on women or threatenting them?
