Yea listverify is good if you're selling. But if you're buying stuff on craigslist, you should at least search the person you're meeting up. I use http://www.craigslistscammer.com/. It's really quick. What else are you guys using?

Scams such as these happen far to often on Craigslist and people need to take every precaution possible to avoid these scammers. P. T. Barnum; although the phrase has been attributed to a couple of other individuals also. Some say P.T said a customer was born every minute. Either way, you're right Butch; there is one born every minute. On the other hand, you and I are tech savvy; there are those our age, even younger, and many older people, that are not.

I reported a scam to the Attorney General and the BBB. I was scammed on a craigstlist ad by a individual and nothing was done except a letter sent to the person and then a letter back to me saying I would have to go to small claims. What was the point in contacting them in the first place if they were just going to tell me what I could have done on my own in the beginning but was trying to avoid the cost of that!

I know an idiot several years ago was told he won $3,000,000 in the Canadian lottery (which he never entered). They sent him a check for $9000 and told him to send $8500 back for prosessing fees so he can get his 3million. A week later this bozo gets arrested for a hot check and to this day he is still paying it off. Moral of story stupid is as stupid does.

Good lord. That one is old. When I get old enough to fall for that type of scam I hope the laws have changed so I can be put out of my misery. Craigslist is simple. We are looking at each other eye to eye. You got cash you get to carry. See because their out whatever they sold too. Who was it said their was one born every minute.

Gotta go with sam on this one. Keep an eye on your elderly relatives, neighbors, and friends. They aren't as savvy with the new technology. Scumbags that prey on the elderly should be treated the same as scumbags that prey on the young.

please rember that the eldery people are usuallythe ones to fall for this scam they live alone an most of there family members only come around when want money the eldery are easy marks for this type of scum so please dont make fun of them look out for the ol lady next door or granpa god will bless you for it
