LODI, Ark. (AP) — A volunteer at a church where families are awaiting word of loved ones missing in Friday's flash flooding says the mood is becoming more tense as the search for survivors continues.
E.J. Johnson, pastor at a church in nearby Glenwood, says people have grown more edgy since Friday as the families wait for more information on their loved ones.
Families gathered inside the church for a meeting Saturday morning, but little new information was available. Seventeen people have died in the flash flooding at the Albert Pike Recreation Area, and the search continues for any survivors.
Families are scattered about a church in tiny Lodi (low-DIE), where the Salvation Army is providing food and water.
