JACKSONVILLE, AR – A Jacksonville woman is currently in the hospital, recovering from multiple stabs wounds she suffered Wednesday morning.
The victim, 30-year-old Ronique Wright, tells police that she was stabbed by her husband after an argument in their apartment. According to the police report, Wright was stabbed 32 times, including in the intestine, stomach, heart, lung, left and right arms, hands, upper back, and neck.
Wright says she fled to a neighbor’s apartment for help.
The husband, Cleveland Wright III, was arrested a short time after the incident in North Little Rock. He was taken to the hospital for a cut on his leg and “ingesting cocaine,” according to the report. He was treated and released into police custody. He is charged with 1st degree domestic battering, a felony.
In the report, Cleveland tells police that he and his wife were in an argument and she pulled a knife from a drawer and tried to stab him. He tells police he “blacked out” and when he came to, his wife was standing against the refrigerator, with blood all over her. Cleveland then told police he called 911 and left the area.
