Shots Fired into Car, Boy Injured by Broken Glass

Officers reportedly found 9 shell casings at the scene and four more in the back seat of the suspect vehicle.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police are investigating an incident that left a young boy injured by broken glass after a shooting late Monday night.

According to a police report, a woman started pulling out of the parking lot with her 5-year-old and 3-year-old sons at an Exxon on Baseline Road around 11:40 Monday night when a 2003 Chevy Impala circled around the pumps and fired several rounds into her vehicle.

The woman told police she drove across the street into a Walgreen's parking lot, and as she was taking an alternate route home, she noticed one of her sons had blood on him from the broken glass. The other boy was not injured.

The mother refused to have her son taken to the hospital by MEMS since his injuries were not life-threatening, according to the report.

Police located the suspect vehicle in the 8700 block of Interstate 30, where they reportedly found four spent shell casings in the back seat area, but no suspects.

Officers also discovered approximately nine spent shell casings at the Exxon where the shooting occurred, the report states.

There were no other injuries.
