SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in Springdale say they've arrested two people after seizing more than $160,000 worth of methamphetamine from a hotel room.

Police were called to the Extended Stay America on Sunday after a maintenance worker investigating a fire alarm discovered the drugs.

Springdale police Lt. Kevin Lewis says officers seized three pounds of methamphetamine — which has a street value of more than $160,000. Lewis tells Fayetteville television station KHOG that authorities also seized more than $35,000 in cash and three handguns.

Lewis says two men were arrested on drug charges and authorities expect to make additional arrests.

Lewis says authorities don't believe the men were manufacturing the drug in the hotel room.

I'm not ashamed to admit I smoke cannabis occasionally the last time I did was over 3 months ago. I don't go looking for it and when I do have any it was given to me. I prefer to smoke at home and I enjoy that it helps me focus on what ever project I may be working on. I've seen the dangers of the government approved legal products and seriously doubt that they have the morals to accept responsibility for any of the damages or deaths associated with what is legal.

Well seeing that I don't drink, smoke anything at all or do drugs then all of you can have all if it. Seems to be a lot of expert users out there that actually admit to using. You'll get caught one day. As for the one that saud they watched the documentary. Marijuana was used in the segment. To the one that said they can drive better stoned than sober. I don't think so. Okay with me though, all of you users are just having a slow death. Your life and you had better hope it's not mine.

golfdude; if they do need to be deported, won't happen until after Nov. Family might not vote for you know who if they get deported.

wp and Butch are right. I've seen first hand what meth can do to people, family's, loved one's; and what it does to their heads. It is indeed a killer. Thank you Uncle Sam.

I'm with wallfisher on this one. Leatherneck; anyone can do tests, and make the results meet their particular agenda. I smoked on a regular basis from just before I got out of the Army (74) until heart attacks in '97. Had to quit after that. I can assure you, I could drive better high than most others that the state gives licenses to. Genesis 1:11,12. Seen "Reefer Madness"? Pure propaganda by the Feds. A film made to brainwash, and it worked with some. A hoot to watch, straight or stoned. Same with the coca plant. Check out the coca plant on wikipedia - "Modern studies have supported a number of these medical applications". The plant, not the stuff made in labs. Most of our illegal drugs came from "research" done in labs supported by the Feds. Amphetamines were widely used by the US military during WW II. And I can also assure you, weed causes a lot less problems than alcohol. Booze and tobacco kill who knows how many people every year; but Uncle Sam makes a lot of dough off of these legal killers. When they realize the "war on drugs" should not include pot, and figure out a way to make a lot of money on it, then it will finally be legal.

Price sure has gone up lately. In 98 it could be bought for 5 thousand a pound or less. Let the fools have it. It will kill them sooner than later. Leatherneck if it don't have any effect on you it's no good. All that test tells me is they got a good connect. When you suck up that alcohol you drink you want to get a little wobbly right. So all you drunks that are looking down your nose at people using drugs think about this. You're just like them and looking stupid for running them down. Wobbly pop is a drug.

Leatherneck, I saw that documentary too and the people they tested that on were dope feinds, not pot smokers..Marijuana is not even in the same category as manufactured drugs, I don't care how the govt wants to classify it. There are special interests involved in keeping marijuana illegal; pharmaceutical co's & textile industries, then people like you who believe all the govt bs fed to you about marijuana.. And so what if wallfisher likes to smoke marijuana, I guarantee you he's not the one out on the roads driving drunk and risking the lives other's.

First things first. Good Job to all involved. Secondly Wallfisher, you need to watch the documentary on Fit and Health about the affects of drugs. Test were conducted with drug addicts. They all showed up as sober and coherent as possible and went through a series of test with medical staff and first responders present. This included finding a box in a house filled with smoke, driving and other everyday test. Then they allowed them to go off and o their drug of choice and come back and attempt the same test again. The results? FAIL. Seems to me you, wallfisher might have some issues and might be a marijuana and don't want the authorities snooping around.

Now, this is what the DEA and prohibition policies should be focusing on, instead of putting a priority on a plant that is far safer than any drug approved by the FDA for human consumption.
