Teen arrested after chase damages cemetery and vehicles

Police arrested a 17-year-old after a chase that left a police car and the teen's vehicle destroyed and caused significant damage to a cemetery.

SEARCY, AR - Police arrested a 17-year-old after a chase that left a police car and the teen's vehicle destroyed and caused significant damage to a cemetery.

According to police, a routine traffic stop was attempted after a vehicle failed to stop and was driving without lights on.

During the resulting chase, police say the suspect backed into a police vehicle and ended up losing control of the vehicle, causing a great amount of damage to Gum Springs Cemetery.

The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was given citations for multiple offenses including Reckless Driving, No Driver’s License, Driving Left of Center, Failure to Stop or Yield, Failure to Stop After Accident, and Not Displaying Proper Vehicle Lighting.
