Teen arrested for aggravated robbery

Police arrested a 19-year-old man who they say is responsible for two armed robberies at the same convenience store.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Police arrested a 19-year-old man who they say is responsible for two armed robberies at the same convenience store.

Robert Gates was arrested during a traffic stop shortly after a robbery was reported at the Valero gas station at 14401 Arch Street early Tuesday morning.

According to the incident report, a man wearing a hoodie pulled tight so that only his eyes were visible walked into the store with a gun and demanded money and cigarettes.

Gates also confessed to robbing the store last week, according Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Gates has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance and carrying a prohibited weapon. He is being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
