CONWAY, AR - Conway police officers served a search warrant shortly before two Wednesday afternoon and found what they believe to be recently stolen motorcycles from several different cities around central Arkansas.
"It looks like they were cutting them up," an undercover officer told FOX16. "These are all pretty recently stolen, and then one of them has already been taken apart in there."
Police arrested Eric Vires and charged him with theft by receiving. Police say they also found guns and a small amount of methamphetamine.
"It was a small amount of meth, probably three grams of meth," explained the undercover officer. "That coupled with guns can create a deadly combination."
Police expected to find the drugs but not the motorcycles. That's because they received an anonymous tip via text about a lot of foot-traffic at the home they searched.
"I didn't know we were gonna find this many stolen items. We were looking more at the drug angle and just kind of stumbled into the stolen stuff," said the undercover officer.
Conway police say their text-a-tip program leads to arrests but usually not so quickly.
"It doesn't always happen that way but this time it did," said the officer, "and we were able to get people's stolen property back and get some drugs off the streets."
