Three men have been arrested in Fort Smith after the police department's SWAT team was called to a home.
It happened early Sunday morning on Spradling Avenue.
Police say Alfredo Benjamin Madrigales, 42, Jose Chacon, 23, and Eiichiro Jack Ishii, 23, were arrested after officers answered a call about gunshots being fired from a home.
When police arrived more gunshots were fired and officers thought they heard a woman scream inside the house.
Police say a rifle was found sticking out of a window at the back of the house. There was no one in the room and the window was partially open.
The Fort Smith SWAT team was called after several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with someone inside the home. The SWAT officers went into the house and found the three men inside, along with several other firearms and ammunition.
Police say the three men refused to explain what had happened, and a fairly large, recently dug hole was found just outside the window where the rifle was found. It appeared the rifle had been fired out the window at the ground.
All three men were taken to the Sebastian County Detention Center for charges ranging from discharging a firearm in the city limits and felon in possession of a firearm, to a parole hold.
