UALR Assistant Athletic Director Arrested for DWI, Other Charges

Gary R. Hogan, 63, of North Little Rock was pulled over just off McCain Blvd. last Thursday night.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The assistant athletic director at UALR has been arrested for DWI and two other charges.

Gary R. Hogan, 63, of North Little Rock, was pulled over in his 2012 Chevrolet Corvette last Thursday night just off McCain Blvd.

The arrest report says "it should be noted that officers received two calls about a white Chevy Corvette driving on the wrong side of the road." The report also states that one officer saw Hogan's vehicle go over the center line.

According to the police report, Hogan smelled of intoxicants and admitted to drinking alcohol.

Police say a portable breath test given to Hogan at the scene registered a .148 blood alcohol content (BAC), nearly twice the legal limit. (Arkansas law considers anyone who registers at least .08 to be driving while intoxicated.)

The arresting officer said Hogan was unable to complete the field sobriety test and also refused to complete the BAC test after being taken to police headquarters.

Hogan was charged with DWI, refusal to submit, and unsafe driving.

He goes to court on July 15th.

According to the Driver Control section of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration website, if at their hearing, a person is found to have been driving while intoxicated, or registered a BAC .08%, or refused the BAC test the driver’s license will be suspended for 6 months for 1st offense DWI, and/or 180 days for 1st offense Refuse Test.
