The police have learned that Jonathan Williams had given them the name of his brother, Kenneth, at the time of his arrest.
Thursday, authorities were contacted by the FBI about Williams. They said that Williams had a warrant out of Los Angeles, California for homicide, a warrant out of Norwalk County Sheriff's Office for Stolen Property, and a warrant with the FBI for Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
After taking prints from Williams, police learned his name was really Jonathan. LAPD Detectives were notified and are on their way to pick up Williams. He was charged with being a Fugitive and a hold was placed on him at the Pulaski County Regional Jail.
A suspected robber is behind bars bruised and battered. Police say he schemed his way inside a Little Rock fast food restaurant on West Markham. When he was arrested, he gave police his brother's name.
The suspect got a taste of his own medicine thanks to alert employees who were two steps ahead of him.
Like many restaurants open late, the Taco Bell and KFC combo locks the doors to the dining room, but keeps its drive through open. Tuesday night, someone thought he'd trick restaurant employees into letting him in and that's when he would plot his attack, until it backfired.
Robbery suspect Jonathan Williams, 21, bears the bruises from what police call a robbery that went terribly wrong. Officers say Williams showed up at the Taco Bell around midnight asking to use the restroom. The dining room was closed but the manager opened the door for him. Another employee locked the door back up.
Williams went into the bathroom and came back out with a gun and demand money. That's when the manager had to think quickly.
When Williams struggled to get the door unlocked, the manager fought with the suspect, actually taking his gun away from him. The suspect jumped out of the drive-thru window.
"The manager managed to get the gun away from him. Once they fell out of the drive-in window, the gun fell on the ground. The suspect picked it up and fled," said Lt. Terry Hastings with the Little Rock Police Department.
He couldn't hide for long. Minutes later, police picked him up on Ash Street, not far from the restaurant.
Police say the manager acted in self-defense and doesn't face any charges, though the suspect is badly bruised. Police say the suspect is from California and they have no idea why he was here in the first place.
FOX16 made contact with the manager involved, but he didn't want to comment. A
spokesperson for the restaurant said this is a bad situation. They wish it never happened, but they're glad no one was hurt. Jonathan Williams is charged with aggravated robbery and theft by receiving. Police say the gun he used to rob the restaurant is actually stolen and registered to someone in California. Officers recovered the money and gun from the suspect. Williams is being held in the Pulaski County Jail.
