Vendors expect big crowd for Conway Gun Show this wknd

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- This weekend, the G & S Gun Show will be held in Conway. Vendors say since the Newtown shooting, gun sales have increased in popularity.

Vendors expect more than 2500 people to walk through the doors to buy a gun or an accessory.

Eric Hyle sells guns and expects to be busy this weekend.

"The demand for the assault rifles have gone through the roof," said Hyle who owns Warwick Enterprises.

He says getting more inventory is not an easy task, adding his gun sales have doubled since the Newtown shooting and he doesn't expect a slowdown.

"We can't get the guns in as fast as we are selling them. Our suppliers are out," said Hyle.

For every gun sold, an accessory is sold too. Vendor Tom Powers says fear of future legislation banning guns is the reason for the rush.

"The gun show last weekend in Jacksonville, we doubled our actual sales," said Powers who owns Arkansas Quartermaster.

The gun show runs 9-5 on Saturday and 9-4 Sunday. Admission is $8.
