LITTLE ROCK, AR - A woman hit by a truck in a crosswalk is in the intensive care unit at St. Vincent Hospital Sunday night.

The hit and run accident happened at 9:30 Sunday morning at the intersection of Kavanaugh and Beechwood. Payne Colton says he saw a woman get hit and run over by a truck as she was crossing the street.

"I'm sitting in my car right across the street and I saw her get hit and run over twice. The man stopped to look back a couple of times and he saw she was pretty upset. He definitely knew he had done something."

According to the incident report, the truck stopped after the front tire rolled over the victim; the driver looked in the mirror then drove forward, rolling over the victim with the rear tire. Colton then stepped in front of the truck and asked the driver what he was doing before the truck sped away, the report says.

Colton says he saw a 2007 white Ford F-150 extended cab with Arkansas specialty license plates with the letters USAAEF. He says the driver has white hair and a white beard, and appeared to be in his 50's or 60's.

The woman's son says she is in stable condition with a partially collapsed lung, ten broken ribs and damage to her shoulder that will require reconstructive surgery.
