Woman tased by Jacksonville police settles lawsuit

A woman who accused a Jacksonville police officer of excessive force and civil rights violations after she was tased in front of her children while walking to church has settled her lawsuit against the city of Jacksonville and one of its police officers.
JACKSONVILLE, AR - A woman who accused a Jacksonville police officer of excessive force and civil rights violations after she was tased in front of her children while walking to church has settled her lawsuit against the city of Jacksonville and one of its police officers.

Serena Washington filed suit against the city Jacksonville and police officer Ryan Temple after she was arrested and tased in May 2011.

Court documents show there was a joint motion to dismiss the case with prejudice.

The amount of the settlement is not known because each side signed a confidentiality agreement.
