LITTLE ROCK, AR-The capitol city is just a quick stop on former Marine Corporal Justin Kuhel's walk to California.
"My 26th birthday was on Friday and I never imagined I would be spending it in Little Rock Arkansas" says Kuhel.
That trip to Little Rock, all on foot.
"It's 2,752 miles total. it's nine states" says Kuhel.
Kuhel started a 5 month long trek in May from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to Camp Pendleton in California and its all for a good cause.
"One is the Head Strong Project which provides no hassle mental health care to veterans and the other is Help Our Military Hero's which they build modified vehicles for guys that were severely injured in Iraq and Afghanistan."
He says having been on the battle field and had friends injured he couldn't think of two better causes to raise money for and the money he plans on raising is no small amount.
"I think with cash donations and everything from the website we are over 30,000. My goal is 100,000 so we are getting there."
Using a cellphone and GPS system, Justin keeps pushing himself despite the physical exhaustion.
"My knees and my back and my shoulders were already kind of messed up from the marine corp. So it's aggravating those injuries but it's kind of a more mental thing honestly" says Kuhel.
He is looking forward to what the journey ahead holds.
