After 36 Years of Service, LRPD Chief Retires

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Little Rock Police honored their chief in the last few days before he retires.

Friends and coworkers taking turns this afternoon sharing memories and funny stories of their time working with Chief Stuart Thomas.

Chief Thomas joined the Little Rock Police Department back in 1978. He was appointed chief in 2005.

He says that while he'll enjoy his time off, he will always have a special connection to the force.

"And um, I'm going to go to the golf course, but the one thing that everybody should know. These gentlemen up on the front row can tell you, you still stay up at night and I'm still responsible for you. I'm so very proud of you, and I wish you the best. Thank y'all," said Chief Thomas.

Chief Thomas's last day is Friday.

New Chief Kenton Buckner starts one week from today. (Monday)
