Investigators say it is the largest valued single theft event anyone can remember in the Clark County city.
Employees at Hardman Lumber located at 3026 Pine noticed three large trucks, valued at approximately $400,000, missing around 6:30am Wednesday morning.
Bruce Hixon, the longtime yard foreman, says he's never seen anything like it in his over 25 years at Hardman Lumber.
"They were pretty gutty to come in here the way they did," Hixon says. "It took at least a couple hours I figure to load up everything."
Hixon says a team of what he believes were at least four thieves used a forklift to load 1400 bundles of roof shingles, valued at $40,000 to $50,000, on to three trucks before busting through a fence to escape.
Lt. Jason Jackson with the Arkadelphia Police Department says two of the vehicles were located in Texas early Wednesday.
"We received a call from the police department in Grand Prairie saying they found two of the trucks near a landfill just north of Interstate 30," Jackson says. "The third truck is an 18-wheeler, it's still missing."
