It was a somber mood there as folks remembered the tragic day.
Four people died and more than 200 were wounded after two bombs went off during the height of the races. Cortney Allison is one Arkansan who was in Boston last year and had just crossed the finish line when the bombs exploded.
She's going back next week to run again and make a statement.
"In the training process, you've got to get your legs ready, your cardiovascular ready, still knowing that on race day, there will be so much emotion and that's really going to rule the day and that's what you can't train for," says Allison.
Police have announced extensive security plans for the historic Monday event. Several of the victims who were injured during the bombing plan to be there.
