Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Astros announced on Tuesday that rookie outfielder George Springer re-aggravated a quad injury and will be shut down for the next two weeks.
Springer had gone on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quad on July 23, and hasn't taken the field since a game against the White Sox in Chicago four days prior.
The 24-year-old, who was selected 11th overall by Houston in the 2011 amateur draft, has hit .231 with 20 home runs and 51 RBI over 78 appearances during his first major-league season.
