Because the boys involved are minors we are not using their names.
But a Garland County Sheriff's Office report shows the boy taking the beating was left with a broken tooth and cuts to his face and mouth.
"It went entirely too long," said Erica Leckner, a Lake Hamilton School District parent. She wonders why someone from the district didn't step in to break-up the fight.
School district officials said Wednesday that no one was available for an on camera interview. The district does have an armed security guard, but it's not clear whether he was present at the high school when the fight happened.
Teachers and administrators are urged to break-up fights if they're physically capable, but district officials couldn't answer questions about what happened this case.
FOX16 has also heard complaints from parents that threatening text messages in the days leading up to the beating we're not properly handled.
District officials offered up no information to address that concern.
According to the sheriff's office report, the 17-year-old was arrested and charged with Third-Degree Battery.
