Bryant Man 37, Accused of Sexually Assaulting 12-Year-Old Girls

BRYANT, AR (News release) - A local man is being held on $50,000 bond after being accused of the sexual assault of a
12-year-old girl.

Bryant Police say Michael Garrett Jr., 37, is charged with 4 counts of second degree sexual assault.

According to police on Feb. 16, officers were called to S. Shobe Rd. in Bryant where they talked with the parents of
the alleged victim.

The parents told police that their daughter had spent the night at a friend's house, and while there was sexually
assaulted by Garrett, the friend's stepfather.

Police say the victim called her parents to tell them what had happened and asked them to come pick her up.

The parents say they immediately called police.

Bryant Police say that upon investigation they learned that Garrett's 12-year-old stepdaughter also said that she
was touched inappropriately by Garrett on several different occasions.
