Burns Park Goose Control Duty for "Shep"

-
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - City officials are set to introduce the solution to controlling the Canada Geese population at Burns Park.

"Shep," (see photo) a two-year-old Catahoula - Blue Heeler mix, will be formally introduced by Mayor Joe Smith on Wednesday afternoon at the Golf Course Clubhouse.

City officials say the acquisition of the dog is a continuing effort by the NLR Parks Department to maintain a natural, healthy park for residents and visitors.

“I can’t wait for our community to meet our newest employee,” says Mayor Smith. “Shep is a great addition to our geese control program and he’s eager to get to work.”
