Conway Man Accused of Impersonating Police Officer
CONWAY, AR - A local man is behind bars after being accused of impersonating a police officer.
Conway Police say Stephen Allen Dunaway, 37, was arrested after an 18-year-old woman reported that he had shown her a badge and threatened her if she did not have sex with him.
The woman told police that she and the suspect she knew only as Stephen were neighbors and that he had claimed to work for the Drug Task Force in Heber Springs.
According to the police report, the woman told investigators that Stephen told her he would be back for an answer and if she refused he was going to plant drugs in her home and she would go to prison.
Dunaway is also charged with burglary and could also face drug possession charges after police say a search of his home turned up a small plastic baggie with a powder substance of suspected methamphetamine.
Police say a badge was found in a search of the outside of the mobile home where Dunaway lived. It was discovered in an open section of the underpinning of the outside of the trailer.
