Conway Police say it happened Friday night when a man driving a white Cadillac ran a stop sign. When an officer tried to pull him over, the suspect took off, leading police on a chase through downtown.
The chase started off slow on Meadowlake and Washington. At first it appeared the suspect followed the rules of the road, even using a turn signal, but things soon changed.
At one point, the Cadillac driver nearly side-swiped another car.
Then, speeds got higher -- roughly 65 miles per hour -- and officers backed off, deciding the chase could be too dangerous for other drivers.
But, two days later an officer ran into the same white Cadillac parked at a Conway apartment complex.
Police say they hunted down the driver -- James Stigall, 34, and found him hiding under a toddler bed inside a unit.
In a police report, it states other apartment residents led them to where Stigall could be found.
The police report also states, Stigall told officers he started the chase because he didn't have a valid driver's license and was scared he would get in trouble.
Officers say Stigall is also wanted on a warrant out of Brinkley.
