AR Highway Police: I-40 Traffic Stop Turns up 200+ Pounds of Pot

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A California man has been arrested in Arkansas after officials say a routine inspection on I-40 near Alma turns up a marijuana stash.

Arkansas Highway Police (AHP) officers confiscated a shipment of drugs this morning, leading to the arrest of the truck driver, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

During a routine inspection at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, AHP officers searched the tractor-trailer, driven by Xiao Jun (Calvin) Duan, 46, of Arcadia. It was inside the sleeper cab that the AHP says officers found 217 pounds of marijuana stored in 7 boxes.

The search was conducted at the eastbound Arkansas Highway Police Inspection Station.

Duan is being held in the Crawford County Jail.
