LITTLE ROCK, AR - A local man is being held at the Pulaski County Jail after his father is killed at their home on the southwest side of town.
It happened around 11:25 Thursday night at 11817 Doe Run Drive.
According to a police report, officers were called to the home on a reported assault.
When they arrived they found the homicide suspect Sean Johnson, 30, standing in the kitchen. Police say officers had to use a taser to control him when he struggled with officers after his arrest.
The victim, Ronald Johnson, 60, was found lying lifeless on the living room floor. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
The victim's wife told police their son had attacked them with a knife and her husband had struggled with the younger man over the weapon. When the knife fell, Mrs. Johnson told police she threw it into a corner, away from the struggling men.
The woman said her husband was then pushed to the floor and kicked by his son.
Police noted a cut on the suspect's hand and he was treated at the hospital before being taken to jail.
Johnson is charged with second degree murder and assault on a family member.
