Little Rock Murder Suspect Arrested in Illinois

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The suspect in a 2013 Little Rock murder was arrested in Illinois.

According to the Little Rock Police Department, Cornelius Pittman, 25, was arrested Wednesday in Chicago on Capital Murder charges for the July 2013 death of Lawrence Thomas.

On June 30, 2013, police said Thomas gave the suspect a ride near 13th and Peyton. The suspect demanded that Thomas give him money and pulled out a gun. The report states that Thomas fought with the suspect and was shot three times in the knee.

Thomas was transported to an area hospital for his injures. He died 15 days later.

Pittman has been transported back to Arkansas and is being held at the Pulaski County Jail.
