Students from kindergarten through 12th grade competed for the top title at Forest Heights Middle School.
Teams in the program use creative and critical thinking to come up with their projects.
The groups participate in seven different challenges involving things like science and fine arts.
6th grader Caroline Bauman, from Stuttgart, said, "Well with ours we had to research a place and pretend to go to it and so we researched about Alkaline Hot Springs in the Yellowstone National Park and that was fun to research about that."
A winner from each age category will move on to the global finals in Knoxville, Tennessee this summer.
Officials with the program say they are looking for volunteers to help.
