HOT SPRINGS, AR - The Majestic Hotel fire was still burning at last report, more than 12 hours after it was first reported.

City fire crews remained on the scene all night and were still spraying water on the burning building after dawn on Friday morning.

The blaze broke out shortly before 6 Thursday night at the historic 1880s-era structure on Park Ave. just off Central Ave. in downtown.

On Friday morning, Hot Springs Police said Park Avenue will be closed on Friday from the fountain at Central and Whittington avenues to the 200 block.

Meanwhile, Hot Springs Intracity Transit's Route #3 bus will not be able to service the areas of Whittington Ave. and Mountain Valley today due to roadblocks related to the fire at the Majestic Hotel. Service will continue to be extended to the Spring Street, area, out towards the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway, and towards National Park Medical Center.
