Little Rock, Arkansas -
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Students all across Arkansas headed back to the classrooms today with summer break in their rearview mirrors.
At one Little Rock school, students started learning under a new STEM program.
Forest Heights Academy is now a kindergarten through 8th grade school.
Students there are learning under "Project Lead the Way."
They use math and science in every subject through an engineering and problem-based curriculum.
"Technology today affords them many opportunities as they grow up and get older," says parent Jennifer Smith.
The school has already made the transition to providing next generation science standards that will be required in all Arkansas schools in the next few years.
