LITTLE ROCK, AR - The management of a local apartment community is reacting to the arrest of a suspect
in a series of fires at the Forest Place complex in the Heights section of town.
We told you on Monday that Lacey Rae Moore
, 43, a former Forest Place resident, had been indicted on federal charges including five counts of arson.
This morning, the president of Maxus Properties, which owns the complex, emailed us the following letter:
Forest Place Apartments has become aware that former tenant, Lacey Rae Moore, has been indicted on seven counts of maliciously damaging and attempting to damage and destroy Forest Place Apartments by means of fire and explosive materials in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 844(i). These counts are in connection with fires that occurred at the complex between February 24, 2013 and June 28, 2013, which resulted in significant damage to the property, the displacement of some of its tenants, and the injury of Little Rock firefighters responding to the fires.
Forest Place Apartments would like to thank all of the agencies, including the United States Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Little Rock Fire Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the Little Rock Police Department, for their hard work and diligence in this matter. It appreciates the hard work that has been done by these agencies in investigating the cause of the fires and it will continue to cooperate with these agencies by whatever means needed.

Forest Place Apartments are located on 9 wooded acres in the Heights neighborhood of Little Rock, Arkansas. The apartment complex consists of 256 units and offers covered gated parking, a fitness center, and a swimming pool, among other amenities. It has been managed by Maxus Properties, Inc., since the property’s sale in March of 2012.
