BRINKLEY, AR -- The Arkansas Speaker of the House asking for help for farmers he says could be left in financial straights.

Some East Arkansas farmers say Turner Grain Merchandising -- in Brinkley -- may be on the verge of bankruptcy.

Many sources told us the owners owe tens of thousands of dollars to clients who booked commodity contracts with the firm.

On Friday, Speaker Davy Carter sent a letter to the House Agriculture Committee Chair asking for a meeting to find solutions.

We tried calling Turner Grain last week, but could never reach anyone for comment.
