I-30 Eastbound at I-430 Fatal Accident
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A local man has died in an interstate accident on the city's southwest side.
It happened shortly before 10 this morning.
The Arkansas State Police identifies the victim as Winston M. Smith, 59, of Little Rock.
Troopers say Smith was merging onto I-30 eastbound from I-430 southbound when he lost control of his 1990 Dodge pickup truck.
The accident report states that he first drove off the shoulder but then got back on I-30, crossed the lanes of traffic and was struck by a tractor trailer rig driven by Kendall R. Spurlin, 44, of Hot Springs. Spurlin was not injured.
