BATESVILLE, AR -- Voters in Independence County are planning to fight a proposed annexation into Batesville.
The city council is giving residents until Monday to make their final vote on the issue.
Batesville's Mayor wants to bring in close to 2,400 people from surrounding communities to attract new business to the area.
The move would result in higher property and sales taxes for annexed homeowners.
Those opposed to the annexation plan to make their case before the council tomorrow.
