Jacksonville Man Arrested After Treatment for Gunshot Wound

CABOT, AR - A Jacksonville man has been arrested after being treated for a gunshot wound.

It happened early Saturday morning after police were called to a gas station at the Hwy. 321/367 intersection.

A 911 caller had reported a shooting in tha area, telling dispatchers that of the people involved in the incident, some had driven away in a Chevy Tahoe while others walked away from the scene.

The vehicle was pulled over and police said four people were inside. None had been injured.

Police also found two people walking in the area and questioned them.

That's when Willie T. Lewis, 37, told officers he had gotten into an argument with some people at the gas station and during the argument he pulled a gun and it went off. The police report noted Lewis had blood and what appeared to be a gunshot wound on his right hand.

Lewis was treated at the scene before being taken to a Sherwood hospital and later taken to the Cabot Police Department where he was charged with Aggravated Assault, Theft by Receiving, and Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons.
