LITTLE ROCK, AR - Thousands of runners and walkers are gearing up for this weekend's marathon and half marathon in Little Rock.
While they're preparing to reach the finish line, volunteers are preparing to host the biggest race of the year and they need some help.
Marathon Volunteer Chair Linda Sue Sanders says it takes more than 3-thousand volunteers to help put on the race. They're close to that number, but Sanders says there are still a lot of spots to be filled.
"This is our 12th running of the Little Rock Marathon and we need 12 times the volunteers. Mostly we need start line, finish line, gear check, and directional people and they have a big foam finger they get to point the way with," Sanders explains.
